Description

Get your students moving and learning with this high-energy scavenger hunt! These Scoot Cards transform decimal practice into an interactive mission. Whether they are hunting for a “Hidden Message” or racing to complete the circuit, your students will stay glued to the math.

This resource includes:

  • Four Differentiated Sets: Mix and match to find the “Goldilocks” level for your class. You can choose between 8-question sets for a quick review or 16-question sets for a deep dive.

  • Self-Correcting Flow: Students use their solutions to locate the next card. If they can’t find their answer on another card, they know they need to re-check their work—instant feedback without you lifting a finger!

  • Movement-Based Learning: Perfect for burning off energy while staying 100% on-task. This keeps students active, focused, and motivated.

  • Versatile Implementation: Use it for math centres, rotations, test prep, or a whole-class “brain break” activity.

This resource covers adding and subtracting decimals (whole numbers plus 2 decimal points). To keep things interesting, you can choose to use sets with or without a fun hidden message that is revealed as they solve the problems.

Every set includes matching recording sheets to keep student work organised and make grading a breeze. The cards can be placed in any order, giving you total flexibility over your classroom setup.

How to Play

  1. Place the cards around the room (in any order!).

  2. Assign students a starting card—they can work solo or in “Power Pairs.”

  3. Solve & Scavenge: Students solve the problem, record the answer, and then hunt for the card that matches their result.

  4. Finish: The hunt is complete once they’ve looped through all cards or cracked the secret code!

Teacher Tip: These cards are “low-prep, high-impact.” Just print, cut, and spread them out. Laminate them once, and you have a go-to maths station for years to come.
