New Zealand Money Activity: I Have Who Has Maths Game
Description
This fun whole-class game allows your students to practice counting New Zealand money.
Print these cards out and laminate them to be used multiple times (optional).
- Jumble up the cards and give them to your students. Make sure all the cards are given out (there are 36 cards, so some students might get two cards).
- Select a student to start – they count the money on their card and read aloud the “I have, who has” on their card.
- All other students are listening, and the student with the next dollar amount reads their “I have, who has” card aloud.
- Carry on until you are back to the first card.
I use this game as a maths warm-up. You can record the class time – and then challenge them to improve upon the class time when they next play the game.
Included with this packet is a version where the next dollar amount is written and a version where the next dollar amount is a picture which must be counted.
There are also printouts which you can use with your students for further practice in counting money.
