This is an excellent book for upper primary and intermediate because of its themes of friendship and family, civil rights, and fairness, and its powerful characters. It also provides a context for an important part of Aotearoa New Zealand’s history.
The Dawn Raid Novel Study has been split up into sections for this resource. Each section varies in size due to the number of pages and the nature of the content. Some sections call for more reflection and discussion than others.
